    The Payroll Assistant helps to scale the company’s accounting function and support the company’s growth.  This position reports to the Controller and focuses on payroll and payroll related functions including payroll processing, time card management, processes improvement, desk procedures and systems to enable Milestone Technologies to meet operational, reporting and audit requirements as we scale.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare payroll journal entries for both US and International for NetSuite import
    • Perform time entry helpdesk services to assist employees and managers with EZLM entries
    • Receive and review time entry error tickets and communicate with employees and managers to resolve issues, through phone and email
    • Provide critical ticket resolution within 1-2 days or less
    • Enter all new hires package information into ADP and send “Welcome to Milestone” email (instructions to register and fill out timecard in EZLM)
    • Process terminations
    • Set-up and update all direct deposit within ADP
    • Responsible for all States EDD correspondence
    • Process “payroll adjustment forms and hand over to Timekeeping Manager/missing time card processing
    • Works with HR / Management staff to ensure proper handling of payroll issues
    • Direct payroll reconciliation and journal entries on a bi-weekly and monthly basis

    Qualifications

    • 1-2 years of experience in Accounting or Payroll
    • Must have integrity and professional at all time
    • Strong interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills and ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the global organization
    • Attention to detail, quick learner and internally motivated to seek for answers and ideas
    • Ability to adapt to new/fast changing business requirements and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
    • Excellent MS office suite skills and good computer spreadsheet skills
    • Understand of base accounting principles

    EDUCATION:

    • Associate Degree, equivalent education or experience
    • BS/BA in Accounting preferred
