    • Perform remote troubleshooting of server hardware and configuration
    • Perform hardware remediation (Break/Fix) both Physical and Logical
    • Provide hardware upgrade support
    • Provisioning and imaging of non-cloud assets
    • Decommissioning assets
    • Management of Technical Services logistics
    • Submit cases to onsite server hardware vendors to fix any identified hardware issues
    • Confirm hardware issues are fixed after server vendor completes their work
    • Perform onsite configuration of server remote management interface (iLo/BMC/Drac) for some servers
    • Support for Proof of Concept (POC)
    • Network Troubleshooting
    • Document all server IP address & Mac address into spreadsheets and keep current, along with rack location.
    • Install Operating system on a number of different machines for testing (each config will be different)
    • Open up servers to either add or remove component from motherboard
    • Rack and cable any equipment coming in the lab.
    • Receive lab hardware at receiving dock and move to lab location.
    • Scan assets into the database (will need to also add into trace once the process I created is put in place)
    • Will also be responsible for managing lab assets, making sure every server is tracked in the HWE spreadsheet
    • Tracking EVAL gear that will not be entered into trace/returning EVAL gear to vendors
    • Create Process documents on how the lab will run and hold people accountable to the process.
    • Develop and maintain a lab component tracking sheet that allows engineers to check in and out components out of storage.
    • Develop and maintain a documented process with the ALM team on how HWE will tag and take care of their own assets.
    • Support other eBay teams that have gear in the lab
    • Shipping & Receiving tasks, including working in software to receive assets, and using scanners to manage asset data.
    • Reports and documents any changes to records associated with assets and stock items.
    • Record keeping such as shipping & receiving logs, packing list scanning/filing, item stock levels, etc.
    • Asset tagging & scanning of new hardware.
    • Escort/Chaperone vendors to insure Data Center policies and standard operational security procedures are followed.
    • Preparation of shipments for lease return,
    • Populate the retained standard Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) records such as shipping / receiving logs per SOPs.
    • Performs routine audits, spot-checks, and inventory cycle counts to ensure data integrity and optimal stock levels.
    • Audits off-system parts and components.
    • Reports and files damage claims.
    • Processes RMAs.
    • Scrubs and/or Degausses disk drives.




    Education and Experience

    • Certifications in Data Center technologies are desired


    Essential Qualifications

    • Experience with remote console / server management technologies – BMC/iLo/iDrac/Cyclades/etc.
    • Experience with Linux OSes such as Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS, etc.
    • Basic familiarity with Linux shell / CLI commands
    • Experience in troubleshooting server connectivity issues such as network connectivity and physical cabling
    • Knowledge of basic networking (ip, subnetting, vlans, ports, etc.) and or shell scripting is a plus
    • Ability to communicate with customers, technicians and vendors
    • Ability to prioritize many tickets and work independently in order to bring them to a resolution.
    • Experience working with multiple hardware vendors to open work request
    • Experience working within a ticketing system: Remedy, ServiceNow, etc.
