    Milestone is seeking a Event Operations Supervisor with a passion for live events, audio-visual experiences, team management, and a commitment to program excellence to join our Event Operations team supporting Facebook. The Facebook Event Operations Team provides end-to-end event production including technical coordination, presentation setup and support, AV/VC services, streaming, and management. The ideal candidate should have strong problem solving skills, quantifiable leadership talents, exposure to installed audio-visual systems, and abilities in team and project management. Our vision is to revolutionize the way technology is deployed and supported worldwide.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead varied and demanding events including fast paced live stream Q&A's
    • Manage remote event operations offices throughout EMEA by interacting daily with local team leads
    • Provide highest level of customer service for all Facebook clients
    • Reviews client requests and provides technical direction for the planning, scheduling, and delivery of client support services for all Facebook internal events from client engagement through delivery of services.
    • Applies significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients.
    • Reviews work of new build team and provides feedback on equipment performance.
    • Easily recognizes system deficiencies and implements effective solutions.
    • Creates and executes development plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
    • Keeps Facebook Event Operations Service Owner well informed of status of event support efforts and serves as liaison between staff.
    • Ensures team is contributing to our SOP documents, completing post event reports as well as the service ticketing system.
    • Responsible for managing technical risks throughout support planning and delivery.
    • Communicates and enforces both Milestone and Facebook standards
    • Performs technician performance reviews and mentors event operations technicians.
    • Manages technical resources within budget and client support schedule.
    • Contributes in quarterly status meetings with IT Management team.
    • Builds a knowledge base of each client's business, systems and objectives.
    • Conducts effective performance evaluations and mentors technicians through formal and informal channels.
    • Trains other technicians and clients through both formal and informal training programs.
    • Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.

     

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 3 years experience managing a team of event operation technicians
    • Experience managing full time, direct report employees (as opposed to only having managed freelance employees)
    • 5 years working knowledge of audio-visual equipment with a proficiency in lighting, sound, video recording and data projection
    • Experience with the technical challenges and problem solving needs in a event production environment.
    • Exceptional professionalism and customer-service skills.
    • Excellent task management, verbal & written communication skills, combined with relentless follow-up.
    • Loves working in a team-oriented environment and highly motivated to provide a positive user experience.
    • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding environment, under intense scrutiny
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
    • Ability to motivate and focus cross functional teams to reach challenging goals.
    • Professionally groomed to company standards, specific location’s standards, and to the standards of our clients.
    • Awareness of safety concerns and risk management, available through training
