    The employee benefits coordinator position plays an integral role in assisting our employees with benefits enrollment and questions, manages insurance billing, maintains employee database and files, and assists with payroll processing.

    Essential Functions

    Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    1. Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
    2. Conduct new hire and annual open enrollment benefits orientations along with explaining benefits self-enrollment system. 
    3. Maintain employee benefits systems and ensure benefits changes related to life events and EOI determinations for payroll deduction.
    4. Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims.
    5. Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
    6. Coordinate and reconcile benefit premiums for employees on leave of absence
    7. Administer COBRA.
    8. Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation. Review monthly unemployment statements.
    9. Assist HR manager in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit the company.
    10. Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
    11. Prepare and maintain biweekly employee reports and other requested reports as needed.
    12. Assist Benefits Analyst and HR manager in completing benefits reporting requirements.
    13. Serves as back up to Benefits Analyst.
    14. Other duties as assigned.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install computer equipment
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
    • Light to moderate lifting is required
    • Ability to uphold the stress of a fast pace environment
    • Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


    Occasionally to local offices as needed.

    Required Education and Experience

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, related field or work experience, or equivalent
    2. 4+ years’ experience as a Benefits Coordinator or related HR benefits experience
    3. Familiarity with HRIS benefits systems (ADP or Ultipro benefit system is a plus)
    4. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
