Overview

We are seeking a Event Operations Supervisor with a passion for live events, audio-visual experiences, team management, and a commitment to program execution to join our Event Operations team. The ideal candidate should have strong problem solving skills, quantifiable leadership talents, exposure to installed audio-visual systems, and abilities in project management.

Responsibilities

Equipment Operation:

  • Setting up, adjusting, and operating audio-visual equipment which may include but not limited to audio, video, data, projection, lighting, and computer related components.
  • Ensuring a flawlessly executed event through timely setup, operation and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the Skills / Competency section below
  • Understanding, implementing setup and operation of all audio-visual equipment.
  • Swap equipment as needed to maintain service levels
  • Fine-tune and troubleshoot components on an as-needed per event basis.
  • Understanding, implementing setup and operation of all audio-visual equipment.
  • Monitoring assigned videoconferencing calls on end users event sites.

Customer Service:

  • Strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
  • Maintains a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication.
  • Meets with guests on site to ensure that their needs are met and the equipment setup is working properly.
  • Monitors events and checks in on customers throughout the day.
  • Understands and fosters the client relationship.
  • Troubleshooting as needed to satisfy the end user's needs and escalate if necessary.
  • Assisting users on using video conferencing systems before and during events.
  • Assist staff with pulling, staging and striking audio/visual equipment for events.
  • Communicate with Event Producers effectively as well as explain our services to technical and non-technical customers and clients as needed.
  • Works a flexible schedule including nights and weekends as needed.
  • Interacts with other staff and outside vendors for equipment.

 

People Management:

  • Confirm job titles, job descriptions, bill rates, pay rates and control rates for all new hires with the talent acquisition team.
  • Conduct second round interviews with potential candidates for open positions.
  • Organize onboarding for new hires.
  • Conduct 1:1 meetings, probationary reviews and annual performance appraisals.
  • Conduct grievance and disciplinary meetings.
  • Escalate employee issues to relevant support services within Milestone for resolution.
  • Approve timesheets, travel requests and travel.
  • Works with leads on all Milestone HR related escalations.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional professionalism and customer-service skills.
  • Excellent task management, verbal & written communication skills, combined with relentless follow-up.
  • Loves working in a team-oriented environment and highly motivated to provide a positive user experience.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding environment, under immense pressure.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • 5 years working knowledge of audio-visual equipment with a proficiency in lighting, sound, video recording and data projection along with experience with the technical challenges and problem solving needs in a event production environment.
  • Ability to motivate and focus cross functional teams to reach challenging goals.
  • Professionally groomed to company standards, specific location’s standards, and to the standards of our clients.
  • Awareness of safety concerns and risk management, available through training
