Overview

The Network Infrastructure Technician is a vital part of the team that makes the Network Tick. This is a mid-level, layer 1 role and is located in Mountain View, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Patch Fiber-Optic and Copper Network Connections
  • Determine and implement power requirements for equipment installs
  • Onsite installation of networking equipment in server rooms and IDFs
  • Coordination and supervision of planned network and power outages
  • Perform and analyze quarterly audits of corporate network IDF
  • Logistical support for team Project Managers campus wide
  • Configure office terminal servers
  • Provide console access to network devices
  • Review and comment on MOPs
  • Create and maintain network documentation
  • Provide solo support for CRs (change requests)
  • Perform basic troubleshooting during an outage
  • Perform and maintain regular project documentation to keep information current
  • Test and troubleshoot complex copper and fiber links (Cat, RF,MPO)
  • Assist in critical environment maintenance tasks
  • Coordinate project related tasks and provide status report update in timely manner to other team members
  • Perform any other related duties as required by client
  • On-call & Power Shutdown Rotation work

Qualifications

  • Technical experience with systems, networking, databases, and user support.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes.Possess strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, be able to present ideas in a user-friendly language, and enjoy working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • The ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations is required, along with a keen attention to detail and strong customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with excellent follow up
