Asset Supply Coordinator (Data Center)

 

This position performs daily activities associated with the sourcing Data Center products and services. The coordinator is responsible for provisioning of assets while maintaining data integrity and SOX compliance for client. Through a set of existing and created processes, the individual ensures that all hardware additions and removals are accounted for using hands on or directed skills.

This role will heavily focus on deployment and general project management, and will work with the manager to report status updates to executives.

The Asset Supply Coordinator (Data Center) under the supervision of the Asset Supply Manager performs and participates in the day-to-day leadership of department processes and the coordination of resources to meet organizational objectives. They will ensure implementation of new strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed customer expectations.

Working with the enhancement and software tools, they will contribute to continuous process improvements to deliver on goals as well as providing seamless enhancements.

Maintaining up-to-date metrics dashboards and create reports for internal and external peers will be required. Also, you will be responsible for accurate data entry and resolving questions from counterparts in other organizations.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Work with hardware vendors, Asset Supply Management/engineering teams on the details of the orders, quotes, pricing, hardware configurations etc.
  • Fulfill hardware procurement ticket requests from internal customers through the use of various asset tracking and purchasing tools
  • Work closely with engineering teams for new hardware product introduction
  • Manage owned CFE inventory at supplier integration sites/storage.
  • Provide updates on gaps, issues, trending or other pertinent issues as day to day exceptions are addressed Inventory Management
  • Facilitation of activities that surround the movement of assets within the data centers
  • Data Entry for clean-up of asset database
  • Coordinate asset transfers across business units while ensuring SOX compliance
  • Support and further develop tools and processes to enhance communication between Operations, Network and Systems Engineering, Asset Management, Data Center Services, and Project Management.
  • Strong technical background in server and networking architecture at data centers.
  • Work cross functionally with teams to drive process improvements and automation related to the efficient deployment and recovery of hardware in the data center.
  • Project Management of infrastructure initiatives to realign data center usage as needed.
  • Work with Data Center Services and Systems Engineering to maximize usage of data center power and space.
  • Work with Asset Management to prioritize allocation of available hardware to both infrastructure and business projects.
  • Function as a liaison within the Technology organization with the objective of facilitating the movement and installation of hardware
  • Strong infrastructure knowledge as well as the ability to manage spreadsheets, status updates, reporting, and other key information.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • BS degree or equivalent work experience in Business, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Solid knowledge in process improvement (ITSM), requirements gathering, and tool implementation.
  • Data Center knowledge that possesses project management skills
  • Team player with excellent internal and external customer service skills and a collaborative attitude.
  • Strong understanding of new hardware end-to-end process from forecasting to hardware purchase to deployment.
  • Ability to adapt in any quickly changing environments.
  • 3+ years of Technical project management experience with sensitivity to working with technical and business resources of differing capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts, lead meetings, deliver presentations, and facilitate problem resolution.
  • Understanding of common enterprise hardware to correlate dependencies across multiple company initiatives as they related to data center space and power
